Follow Leon Kennedy a little more in new gameplay trailer

Here’s some new footage of gameplay of the latest Resident Evil installment set to launch on October 2nd. Also check out the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection launch trailer below. I find it slightly disturbing. Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection is available from PSN for $26.99 or each title is sold separately for $14.99.

Resident Evil-themed restaurant to hit Tokyo

Biohazard Cafe & Grill S.T.A.R.S. is an upcoming Resident Evil-themed restaurant located in Shibuya Parco Part-1 department store in Tokyo. The restaurant will open Friday, July 13th and will feature the  Dance Team S.T.A.R.S. Angelique and limited-edition items. I wonder what kind of items will be on the menu and how creative the food will appear. Japan has a lot of these themed restaurants which would be a pretty fun experience.

All four films didn’t exist, Resident Evil: Retribution brings back Alice and everyone else, well almost

Resident Evil is one of those films that I watch because it’s just interesting and amusing for the special effects and destruction. Well come this September 14th, the Resident Evil series is not only having a video game and an anthology collection released in October, but also Resident Evil: Retribution will be premiering worldwide in 3D and IMAX 3D. The popular survival horror franchise is giving many fans something to look forward to considering the PC release of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City in July, the all-the-previous-films-were-a-lie Resident Evil: Retribution movie debut in September, and the much anticipated release on Resident Evil 6 are all scheduled to keep fans busy in the year 2012. The film, of course, focuses on the protagonist Alice, who is once again recapture by the Umbrella Corporation and continues to hunt those people responsible for the outbreak. The cast consists of many characters from the Capcom video game franchise such as Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy. However, both Claire and Chris Redfield will not reappear in the film and that is explained through their capture by the Umbrella Corporation. The movie will take us to Tokyo, New York, Washington D.C. and even Moscow. Additionally Rain Ocampo will be returning after her death in the first Resident Evil film. Michelle Rodriguez will reprise her role as the Umbrella Corporation operative, who is now cloned and includes a “Good Rain” and an “Evil Rain”. Check out the debut trailer below and here’s the official website for the upcoming film.

Past Resident Evil titles to release in special collection for PS3 and Xbox 360

If you wish to spend an extra $30 for Resident Evil 6, you can receive digital copies of Capcom’s past Resident Evil titles. The Resident Evil Anthology will retail for $89.99 on October 2nd. Both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 have different versions of the anthology. Check out the list below. PlayStation 3’s anthology is a far better deal in terms of games; however, Xbox 360’s anthology has the Resident Evil: Degeneration film which is pretty good.

Shinji Mikami in the works of developing a new horror, Zwei

Bethesda has announced a new project titled Zwei, published by Tango Gameworks and directed by Shinji Mikami, the creator of the Resident Evil series. There’s not much news about the game, but expect something that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The game, of course in true Mikami fashion, will be a survival horror game and as Mikami put it, “A true ‘survival horror’ game is one in which the player confronts and overcomes fear” (The Guardian). There’s not an idea of which platforms the game might be playable on at this time, but I hope it comes out on PC, oh and co-op would be nice since horror games (of course that’s what they’re supposed to do) scare the bejesus out of me sometimes. Also the titled Zwei is a codename, therefore perhaps we’ll see a new name for the title or maybe they’ll stick with Zwei. I find it grows on you and I like it as Zwei.
