Total War: Rome II live-action trailer

Watch the brand new live-action trailer for Total War: Rome II. Check back for more updates concerning the Creative Assembly game.

Total War: Rome II set to release 2013

Sometime in 2013 (probably after summer), Sega will publish the next Total War installment. Developed by Creative Assembly, Total War: Rome will receive a sequel titled Total War: Rome II. Concentrated with the highest budget, Rome II will be the “most expansive turn-based campaign and the largest, most cinematic real-time battles” (Eurogamer). The screenshots look great and come July 6 at Rezzed: The PC and Indie Games Show, there will be a teaser trailer available for the world to see.

Game weekend deals on Steam, Amazon, Gamersgate, and more

Weekend Game Deals – Summer is here! *article taken from PC Gamer because it would just be silly to rewrite what’s already been conveniently laid out heh*

at 01:47am June 23 2012

Gather ’round, discount hounds: I’ve tales of summer sales for ye. Steam has augmented Deus Ex prices by 75%, Amazon has kicked 75% off Super Street Fighter IV: AE, GamersGate’s Total War sale has come back for the wounded soldiers who missed last week’s Steam sale, and GOG has initiated 17 days of head-to-head dealmatches. See all of this week’s sales inside! (I promise to use fewer awful analogies.)

STEAM

As you know, Deus Ex games are all 75% off this weekend. There are a few smaller discounts as well, but that’s the big one for this weekend. Oh, except 80% off Bejeweled 3, if you want a game with an exceptional number of ‘e’s in the title.

AMAZON

[US Only] Much remains the same at Amazon, though it’s now selling Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition at 75% off, and both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 for $5 each.

ORIGIN

Origin is holding a “pre-order one, get one half off” sale. Origin’s deals page lists the pre-orders available and their resulting discounts. Some of them are silly, like 50% off SimCity 4, which is constantly discounted everywhere else. Pre-ordering Dead Space 3 can get you 50% off Mass Effect 3 or Battlefield 3, which isn’t bad…but you have to pre-order Dead Space 3. I prefer to avoid potential early adopter remorse.

GAMERSGATE

GamersGate is selling Total War stuff at 75% off or more, including the complete collection for $24.90.

GAMESTOP

GameStop only has a few new sales, most notably Aliens vs. Predator, Saints Row: The Third, and L.A. Noire. GamersGate beats its Shogun 2 sale, and the rest are carried over from last week.

GOG

I can’t list GOG’s sales at the moment, because it’s time for… BATTLE OF THE GAMES! Every day two games will be discounted — one at 40% off and one at 60% off — with the bigger discount going to the game with the most votes recorded the previous day. Go get your interactive marketing on, just be sure to vote for the games I want. (Please deactivate your neural firewall for a moment so I can upload my preferences.)

GAMEFLY

GameFly is rather barren this week — the only deal I spotted was the 50% off Payday: The Heist sale that’s being offered everywhere.

Let us know in the comments if you find any deals we missed!

Steam discounts both Napoleon and Cities XL 2012 50% off for this weekend

This upcoming weekend Steam has placed Napoleon free-to-play until Sunday. The Creative Assembly game, Napoleon: Total War Imperial Edition, is on sale for 50% off placing it at $9.99 until the sale ends on Monday at 1pm. However, the Game of the Year Edition is not on sale and sits at $29.99. Additionally the DLCs are not discounted as well. However when you purchase the Imperial Edition, you’ll receive 10 additional elite units that are usable in both single player and multiplayer game modes.

Also available on sale this weekend is Cities XL 2012. This game is also 50% off like Napoleon and is available to purchase at $9.99 until the sale ends on Monday.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector’s Edition available from Amazon UK

Sega unveiled an Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition will be exclusive to Amazon UK and cost you £70 on console and £60 on PC. If you are from the US, you may also purchase from GameStop for $59.99 which provides additional characters, character customisation options and Ripley’s flamethrower as a pre-order bonus. The Gearbox Software game will debut on February 12th 2013 on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U (at a later date).

  • A high quality resin powerloader figurine.
  • Four playable movie characters including Private Hudson, Corporal Hicks, Private Drake and Sergeant Apone.
  • Additional Marine character customisation options.
  • Ripley’s flamethrower.
  • Exclusive multiplayer weapons including the Phase Plasma Rifle and Sonic Electronic Ball Breakers.
  • Exclusive USCM Academy firing range level.
  • USCM Dossier including mission brief, USS Sephora schematic, Recruitment card, LV-426 recon photo, USCM iron-on badges and a USCM graduation certificate.
  • Will come in a Limited Edition xeno hive box.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed announced

In late 2012, SEGA will release a new game, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, featuring Sonic and a bunch of other SEGA characters. The game will be a new racing game that will be for a multitude of consoles: Nintendo 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360.

Sega released iOS mini game based on Total War series

Today, Sega released their iPhone and iPad exclusive game, Total War Battles: Shogun; however an Android version is in the works. The game costs £4.99/$6.99/€5.49. The game contains a full campaign and a built in two player mode on the same device. Creative Assembly’s digital team developed this new installment of the series by taking advantage of the iPad’s new high resolution Retina display as well as really focusing on the capabilities of touch screen devices. In addition to the an extensive campaign (27 single-player missions with 18 side-quests toting around 15 hours of play-time) for the iPhone and iPad, the game also honors it’s predecessor by lifting the unit animations of the original Total War games. The gameplay is like the original strategy game; of course you must manage your resources, build an army of samurai and horsemen and archers, etc and defend, capture, and hold territories.

Check out the trailer below.
