LoL champion revealed – Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver

Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver

I’m getting behind on my posts. I just posted the sneak peek and oh look here’s the full reveal of Kha’Zix. The official post is below.

Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver, will be devouring prey on the Fields of Justice in the upcoming patch. A flexible jungle assassin, Kha’Zix excels at surprising enemy champions and quickly dealing massive burst damage. Moreover, his unique evolution gameplay allows him to adapt to different enemy team comps and strategies by customizing his abilities over the course of the match. Here’s a full rundown of his abilities:

Kha’Zix, the Voidereaver

  • Unseen Threat (Passive): When Kha’Zix is not visible to the enemy team, he gains Unseen Threat, causing his next basic attack against an enemy champion to deal bonus magic damage and slow.
  • Taste Their Fear:Deal physical damage to a single target. Damage against isolated targets is significantly increased. Kha’Zix passively marks enemies that are isolated from nearby allies.
    • Evolving claws increases damage to isolated targets even further. Kha’Zix also gains increased range on both Taste Their Fear and his basic attack.
  • Void Spike:Kha’Zix fires spikes that explode on contact, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemies. Kha’Zix is healed if he is within the explosion radius.
    • Evolving spike racks causes Void Spike to fire three projectiles in a cone. Spikes will also apply Unseen Threat to all enemies caught within the area of effect.
  • Leap:Kha’Zix leaps to an area, dealing physical damage to enemies in the area he lands.
    • Evolving wings increases Leap’s range dramatically and causes a kill or assists to refresh the cooldown of Leap.
  • Void Assault:Each rank of Void Assault allows Kha’Zix to evolve one of his active abilities, granting it an additional effect. Upon activation, Kha’Zix enters stealth and gains Unseen Threat, increasing Movement Speed. Kha’zix can cast Void Assault again for a short time after activation.
    • Evolving active camouflage allows Kha’Zix to cast Void Assault three times over the course of its duration and reduces any damage he sustains while in stealth.

Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver in-game animations

The bonus effects that Kha’Zix accrues for ambushing a target make him a natural jungler. His core initiation skill, Leap, allows him to stage ganks from unexpected angles, even over long distances or across terrain. If his quarry happens to be a lone champion, Kha’Zix can utilize the bonus damage from Taste Their Fear combined with the initial magic damage from Unseen Threat to truly devastating effect. Remember that the area of effect damage from Void Spike can help clear away any lingering minions to isolate a foe, making them vulnerable to some additional punishment.

Once he’s initiated, clever repositioning can allow Kha’Zix to break line of sight and refresh Unseen Threat. Juking into the brush, using Leap to withdraw and reinitiate, or entering stealth by casting Void Assault will allow the Voidreaver to continually slow enemies and lay down bonus damage from his passive. Cunning use of Unseen Threat is key to maximizing Kha’Zix’s damage potential.

Later in the match, Void Assault allows Kha’Zix to safely and aggressively navigate team fights. After leaping into combat, Kha’Zix can use his ultimate to evade attacks while he picks apart vulnerable members of the enemy team. Once he’s downed an opponent, activating Void Assault again can allow him to either safely withdraw or reinitiate on another target with Unseen Threat.

Each of Kha’Zix’s active abilities can also be evolved to provide greater utility. At Levels 6, 11, and 16, he’ll gain an Evolution Point that can be spent to unlock additional effects on a specific skill. If you’d like greater hit and run potential, for example, choosing to evolve Void Assault and Leap can drastically increase your mobility by offering additional stealth and a second Leap after scoring a kill or assist. If you find yourself falling behind, combining Void Assualt with Void Spike can give you increased durability in team fights and greater farming and poke potential while you catch up on gold. Tailoring your evolutions to address the challenges of a specific match-up can give you that extra edge you need to finish strong in a close matchup.

LoL champion sneak peek – Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver

Kha’Zix, the Voidreaver sneak peek

Here’s the latest news of the next champion to join the ranks. This sneak peek shows a purple champion that bears a great resemblance to Alien as well as Malzahar’s voidling. It also takes some aspects from StarCraft as well, perhaps? More information soon upon release.

LoL – mid-September patch notes

There’s no video for the upcoming patch as far as I know, but there isn’t much being changed specifically to the rosters. Many of the changes that are being implemented are customization options for Spectator Mode and change in the ELO tiers along with the addition of Syndra, the Dark Sovereign. Check out the details below.

PvP.net 1.67

  • Players may now create up to 20 mastery pages, up from 10.

League of Legends v1.0.0.147

Syndra, the Dark Sovereign

  • Transcendent (Passive)– Spells gain extra effects at max rank.
    • Dark Sphere: Deals bonus damage to champions
    • Force of Will: Increases slowing duration.
    • Scatter the Weak: Spell width increased.
  • Dark Sphere – Syndra conjures a Dark Sphere dealing magic damage. The sphere remains and can be manipulated by her other powers.
  • Force of Will – Syndra picks up and throws a minion or Dark Sphere dealing magic damage and slowing the movement speed of enemies.
  • Scatter the Weak – Syndra knocks enemies and Dark Spheres back dealing magic damage. Enemies hit by Dark Spheres become stunned.
  • Unleashed Power – Syndra bombards an enemy Champion with all of her Dark Spheres.

  • Spectators can now rearrange the display positions of any player on the scoreboard in the bottom-center of the screen by dragging that player’s bar.
  • The scoreboard has been rearranged for easier team comparisons:
    • Champion portraits have been moved to the center of the scoreboard, with minion kills immediately adjacent.
    • Items are now automatically sorted to display more expensive items toward the center of the scoreboard.
  • While drag-scrolling (default: middle mouse click + drag), the camera will now wait to move until the player drags the mouse, rather than automatically moving in the direction of the initial click.
    • E.g. if a player middle-clicks the right side of the screen, the camera will no longer automatically move to the right. Instead, it will move based on where the player drags the mouse.
      • Max scroll speed remains the same and caps out at a drag length equal to the distance between the center and edge of the screen.
    • The mouse cursor will now disappear while drag-scrolling.

Olaf splash art

For a quick rundown of the new champions and skins on sale this weekend, we have Olaf, Sona, and Miss Fortune available for 487 RP each. Then for the skins, Dark Crystal Ryze, Buccaneer Tristana, and General Wukong are all on sale. Dark Crystal Ryze and General Wukong are 487 RP, but Buccaneer Tristana is available for 260 RP. They are all purchasable until Monday, August 20th. Here’s the post by Riot which is pretty funny and has a lot more fluff.

Pentakillers!

We’ve just started auditions for the latest addition to the Pentakill lineup since our last drummer got crushed under a pile of amplifiers after a tragic explosion took down the stage last tour stop. Hey, what was his name again? Who gives a **** – he was a nihilist anyway.

They’re saying that the resulting riots tore down nearly a third of the city and resulted in at least 18 deaths. Feeders! Everything has an expiration date. Unfortunately, the town council is on our ass to pay the damages, and the lawyers are saying that the “embrace the inevitable” defense is looking shaky. I guess we can’t afford to cancel the tour, so it’s time to hold some emergency tryouts.

Unfortunately, Mordekaiser refuses to get out of bed and Karthus still hasn’t made bail, so it’s up to me to find the best replacement. Pass me that bottle of Jayce Daniels, because this @#$!’s about to get heavy. Alright, send them in, but any one of you @$#holes who can’t keep time is going on sale!

  • Dark Crystal Ryze looks totally metal and rocks his own special effects. The dark horns and black spines look totally badass but he keeps shorting out the amp stack every time he hits a drum solo. If you’ve got insulated wiring you can take him for 487 RP.
  • General Wukong keeps talking about how he wants creative control. You’re the drummer, dumb@#$. You just sit behind the band, you **** dirty ape! 487 RP to take this monkey off our backs.
  • Buccaneer Tristana clearly thinks that this is a different kind of band. We’re Pentakill – the biggest death metal band to ever grace the Fields of Justice. I don’t care how much you want to shoot something, you can’t come on stage dressed like a pirate! Take this one back to the docks for 260 RP.

  • You can’t play the drums if you’re already on keys, Sona. This isn’t one of those prissy pop bands, this is metal! There’s no double bass on your drum machine, no matter how many kits you’ve sampled. Take her back to your studio for 487 RP.
  • Miss Fortune thinks she should be the front-woman just because she’s showing more skin. This audition is for drummer! Our front-man is so metal he doesn’t even have skin! Your band can hire her for 487 RP.
  • This Olaf guy showed up completely smashed and keeps screaming about how he’s a Berserker. He’s already broken six drum kits and drank a full case of beer, and I haven’t even hit record, yet. That’s totally brutal! I’m going to make him play it again when he sobers up. For now, you can go get his stomach pumped for 487 RP.

LoL – Syndra, the Dark Sovereign revealed

Syndra, the Dark Sovereign

In addition to Rengar, we’ll have another upcoming champion available for play at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. After the Pridestalker joins the League, Syndra, the Dark Sovereign, will descend upon the Fields of Justice in the following patch. A magical prodigy, Syndra conjures powerful dark spheres, and even wields enemy minions and monsters as weapons. Here’s the full rundown of her abilities.

  • Transcendent (Passive): Each of Syndra’s normal abilities gain an extra effect at max rank.
o Dark Sphere: Spheres deal bonus damage to champions.
o Force of Will: Projectiles briefly knocks enemies into the air.
o Scatter the Weak: Cone width increases.
  • Dark Sphere: Syndra conjures a dark sphere at a target location, dealing magic damage in an area. The sphere remains for several seconds and can be manipulated by Syndra’s other abilities.
  • Force of Will:
o First Cast: Grabs a target dark sphere, enemy minion or neutral monster.
o Second Cast: Throw a grasped dark sphere or enemy at a target area. Enemies struck by the projectile take magic damage and are slowed.
  • Scatter the Weak: Deals magic damage in a cone and knocks enemies away based on how close they are to Syndra. Dark spheres within the area-of-effect are also knocked back, dealing magic damage and stunning enemies in their path.
  • Unleashed Power (Ultimate): Draws upon Syndra’s full cataclysmic power, harnessing all active dark spheres to deal additional magic damage to an enemy champion.

Syndra in-game animations

Syndra’s kit revolves around the manipulation of short-duration globes left behind by Dark Sphere. While the function of Dark Sphere is very simple on the surface, proper sphere management can be the difference between success and failure with Syndra. Each of her abilities can be used on its own in a pinch, but good sphere placement ensures that Syndra always has the ammunition she needs to throw projectiles with Force of Will, and creates new firing angles for globes launched with Scatter the Weak.

While it might be tempting to snatch up a defenseless minion and use it as a projectile, Syndra’s Force of Will ability really shines when it’s used in conjunction with dark spheres. Syndra can use Force of Will to reposition these globes for a successful shot with Scatter the Weak while Dark Sphere is on cooldown, or to extend the duration of a sphere that’s about to expire in order to build up ammunition on the battlefield. Ultimately, keeping your sphere count high in this manner will allow you to dictate the course of a battle by threatening a large area.

The importance of managing your dark spheres is most keenly illustrated by Syndra’s ultimate ability, Unleashed Power. The increased damage granted by each active sphere can transform this ability from high-damage nuke into a cataclysmic attack. Good planning and strategic dark sphere placement can make Syndra an intimidating opponent to face in mid lane.
