Trine and Crysis franchises featured sales on Steam for the weekend

This weekend Steam has two awesome franchise sales. The first one is 75% off Trine and Trine 2. In addition to that, you can purchase the new Goblin Menace DLC for just $6.79 which is 15% off. The Trine Complete Collection is available for just $8.74. Also the Frozenbyte Complete Collection is available for 75% off and it features Trine, Trine 2, Trine 2: Goblin Menace, Shadowgrounds, and Shadowgrounds Survivor. The other sale that is available until Monday at 1pm EST is Crysis and Crysis 2. Crysis 2 – Maximum Edition is purchasable for just $9.99, while the Crysis Complete Collection is also available for $17.49 and it includes Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis 2 – Maximum Edition.

Plants vs Zombies 2 to come next spring

PopCap Games has announced they’ll be releasing a sequel to the much beloved game, Plants vs Zombies. The game will launch sometime in spring 2013 and will feature an all new slew of plants and zombies and “mulch more”. Below is the official announcement.

PopCap Games, maker of some of the world’s most popular video game franchises and a division of EA, today announced that the underground growth of the sequel to Plants vs. Zombies, one of the world’s most popular video games, is germinating and advancing with rigor.

The sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is expected to launch by late spring 2013, and will include a bevy of new features, settings, and situations, designed to delight the franchise’s tens of millions of fans around the world. No other details of the highly anticipated new installment in the franchise are available at this time, beyond the following comments from some of the game’s denizens.

“Spring is crullest curlie ungood time, and plantz grow dull roots,” noted an unidentified spokesperson. “So, we are meating you for brainz at yore house. No worry to skedule schedlue plan… we’re freee anytime. We’ll find you.”

“There was a time we relished a bracing, hearty blend of zombies, in the morning,” said Sonny F. Lower, a representative of the Flora Forever Foundation. “But first, a brisk shower and some strategic pruning are required. Tomorrow is near!”

The Sims 3 is getting another expansion

The Sims3 will be receiving a new expansion come this fall. The expansion will allow you to entertain yourself with snowball fights or participate in apple-bobbing contests. The new title call be called The Sims 3: Seasons which is fitting since the premise of the game is incorporating seasonal activities for your little Sims. Check out some screenshots below. Also The Sims 3: Supernatural will release on September 4th.

SWTOR goes free-to-play in November

Bioware and Electronics Arts announced yesterday, they’ll be bring Star Wars: The Old Republic into a free-to-play model come this November. The MMORPG that was released last winter has currently slipped below one million subscribers. Although the model is free-to-play, the developers are incorporating a currency system called Cartel Coins that will enable users to access new content and advanced player features such as valuable items. However those who don’t wish to be limited in their gameplay will be able to do what they are doing now, paying a recurring auto-payment each month or using a game time card. When transitioning to the new model, players who are currently subscribed and those who have canceled their subscription will receive a payment of Cartel Coins based on their game time, that is how long they have played up to the new launch. In addition, you will receive several rewards if you have been sticking to SWTOR before the news of the free-to-play model. Check out the details between the free-to-play model that will be incorporated in November, compared to the model now and which will still continue.
