After being shelled in the aftermath of a controversy over his golf game, Josh Beckett has given up one run over two starts.

The Red Sox won both today’s game and last night’s game against Philadelphia. Thank goodness! With those two wins, Boston is back to one game behind reaching .500 baseball. The Red Sox won 7-5 behind Lester on Saturday night, while this afternoon they kept the Phillies’ bats at bay in a 5-1 victory behind Beckett from Citizens Bank Park.

The Red Sox bats were pretty hot for homers last night. Aviles, Middlebrooks, Saltalamacchia, and Ortiz all had home runs on the night to supply the Red Sox with close win. Then this afternoon, Aviles once again got the Sox on the board first with a solo homer. Saltalamacchia also helped out the Sox by blasting a three-run home run to score Gonzalez and Middlebrooks in the top of the 3rd and that would be the last and only runs for the rest of the game. Also the Red Sox gave the amazing Cliff Lee his second loss of the season.

Tomorrow night’s game begins from the beautiful Camden Yards at 7.05pm on NESN against the 1st place AL East Orioles. The Red Sox will have a three game series against the Orioles, then head back home to take on the Rays for the last weekend of May.
