Sox lost series to As

The Sox last night once again lacked run support for their pitcher. Unfortunately, Bard received his third loss of the season. The Sox couldn’t do anything against Brandon McCarthy until the seventh inning where they were able to score just one run from a sac fly by Marlon Byrd. The Sox batters gave fans hope in the bottom of the ninth again like the night before, but Pedroia’s RBI wasn’t enough and moments later, Gonzalez struck out. Bard gave up 4 runs on 8 hits and only struck out 1 and walked 2 batters. On the bright side, Middlebrooks got his first Major League hit in his second at bat and went 2 for 3 for the night. New series against the Baltimore Orioles this weekend. Hopefully the Sox can get back to .500 baseball.
