Red Sox 4/26/12 play by play

Red Sox take the first game from the White Sox 10-3. Tazawa came out for three innings and got the save and Doubront finally got his first win of the season. Boston extended their win streak to four.

Top of the 9th: Aviles’ double was almost out of the park. Aviles scored with a single by Sweeney which was stretched out to a double. Red Sox 10-3.

Top of the 5th: Saltalamacchia really is improving his batting performance. Salty hit another run which upped the Sox 9-3.

Top of the 4th: Chicago White Sox cut the Red Sox’s lead with a solo shot by Dayan Viciedo to make it 7-3.

Bottom of the 3rd: Doubront almost got into really big trouble when the White Sox had the bases loaded. The Sox skated by with just having one run score by A.J. Pierzynski’s single.

Top of the 3rd: Humber’s taking a beating from the Red Sox. No perfect game here! Kevin Youkilis added a nice four insurance runs with a grand slam that landed in the bullpens. 6-1 Red Sox. Holy cow, Sox got back-to-back homers. Moments later, Saltalamacchia hit a solo jack that wrapped around the right field pole. Now 7-1 Red Sox.

Bottom of the 1st: The White Sox struck back after Boston’s early lead and the score sits at 2-1 after a double from Paul Konerko.

Top of the 1st: Adrian Gonzalez doubled and scored Mike Aviles on a lobbing hit to left field. Sox 1-0. This is the fourth game in a row the Red Sox have scored in the first inning. David Ortiz singled to left to score Pedroia; Red Sox 2-0.
