Bruins and Sox both look to bounce back after disappointing losses yesterday afternoon

Bruins lost Game 5 yesterday to the Capitals when the Capitals scored their go-ahead goal late in the third period on a power play. The Sox similarly lost their game in late innings as the bullpen imploded and gave up a whooping fourteen runs in just two innings alone. Both teams need a win desperately. The Bruins need one in order not to avoid elimination in Game 6 this afternoon from the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Red Sox need one after losing six straight home games to both the Texas Rangers and their rivals the New York Yankees. In addition, Bobby Valentine is skidding on thin ice with the Sox’s collapse yesterday. He received a huge amount of boos from the Fenway crowd each time he replaced a pitcher. It’s a gloomy day here in Boston with the likelihood of rain, hopefully so sun will come out and brighten up these rather depressing circumstances.

Watch the Bruins @ 3.00pm on NBC, RDS, CBC or listen to them on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

Watch the Red Sox @ 8.05pm on ESPN or listen to the game on NYY: WCBS 880, WADO 1280; BOS: WEEI 93.7 FM/850 AM, WWZN 1510.
