Red Sox finish up with Rangers tonight; an obvious roster change

Tonight before the Sox get a day off, they must face the Texas Rangers after the huge shellacking the Rangers gave them. The game begins at 7.10pm EST and you can watch it on NESN.

In other news, Melacon was optioned to Triple-A because of his poor relief appearance. Melacon gave up six runs without getting a single out. As his replacement, Junichi Tazawa was brought up. Even more news, wonderful news at that, Tito will be attending the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park. I admit that I understand his reasons for not going, in fact if I was in his place I probably would have not gone at first; however I’m glad he decided to change his mind. It’s unfortunate he was the scapegoat for the last season; but regardless he’s the only manager to deliver a World Series Championship to Boston since 1918, not only one WS title, but two! Even if people did backstab him, Tito will certainly receive the appreciation he deserves from the sellout crowd on Friday.

Here’s an interesting ESPN article that was just published.

Lineup for tonight’s game:

Aviles SS
Pedroia 2B
Gonzalez 1B
Ross RF
Ortiz DH
Youkilis 3B
Shoppach C
McDonald LF
Repko CF

Beckett SP
