Red Sox take on the Texas Rangers in a two game series

It’s Lester vs Lewis in the first of a two game match-up against the Texas Rangers. Hopefully, Lester will get some run support today. I’ll try to update about the game the best I can, but I’m completely wiped from work, then a flooded basement and a shattered window. Yeah today was loads of fun.

Here’s the line up for tonight’s game. The first pitch is at 7.10pm. You can watch it on NESN or online on MLB TV. Oh and a little about the Texas Rangers, they are on a four game winning streak and so far stand 8-2 atop the AL West.

UPDATE: Texas is on top 7-2, heading into the top of the fourth. The Red Sox drew first blood in the bottom of the first with a two run homer by Pedroia on the Green Monster. The Rangers answered back in the top of the second with a homer by Napoli, scoring Cruz and tying the game as a result. In addition, Texas also scored two more runs to take the lead. Andrus drove in a run off of his hit and Hamilton scored a run by a force out. The Rangers tacked on three more runs the top of the third and forcing the replacement of Jon Lester. Gentry got a run from a forceout, Andrus provided a sacrifice fly, and Hamilton hit a single getting the last run of the inning. Young hits an opposite field homer run in the top of sixth increasing the Rangers lead to 8-2. On a curveball from Melacon, Hamilton belted a 3 run homer to center field the top of the eighth; just moments later former Red Sox player, Adrian Beltre, slammed a solo shot to center field as well making the score a depressing 12-2 in favor of the reigning AL Champions. Ugh back-to-back homers. Now make that three home runs in one inning for the Texas Rangers with the last belt by Nelson Cruz. I can safely say Melacon is not a fan favorite of Fenway. Justin Thomas replaced Mark Melacon in the eighth inning, but it’s not really getting much better. It’s now 16-2 Rangers. Red Sox lose 18-3 to the Rangers.
