Red Sox look to extend win streak to four, also looking to sweep the Rays in first home series after opening with road series

I can’t help but crack up listening to Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo talk in the top of the 7th. They are recalling a game against the Lost Angeles Angels, by making fun of a guy who threw his pizza at a man who already split his beer all over himself after Garrett Anderson collided into the third base line crowd while trying to catch a foul ball.

Pizza Throwing

The Red Sox look to extend their winning streak to 4 games and sweep the Rays during Marathon Monday. The Sox will head into a two game series with the 2011 AL Champions, Texas Rangers, tomorrow and Wednesday. Later this weekend is the much anticipated rivalry match-up against the hated New York Yankees. This Friday marks the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park (well supposedly, I’ve read a lot of books and a few have said another such as April 12 – who knows, regardless it’s still the 100th Anniversary YAY) since its official game. They’ll be playing the New York Yankees Friday @ 3.05pm, Saturday @ 4.05pm, and Sunday @ 8.05pm.

Here’s the lineup below and so are some updates.

Aviles SS
Pedroia 2B
Gonzalez 1B
Ortiz DH
Ross CF
Sweeney RF
Punto 3B
Saltalamacchia C
McDonald LF

Bard SP

UPDATE: It’s 1-0 Rays. Bard went 6.2 innings striking out seven, walking seven, and only allowing thankfully one run (walked in) in the bottom of the sixth during a bases loaded jam. Matt Albers pitched in the top of the ninth, keeping the Rays to their 1-0 lead. Rays take the last game from the Sox even with Repko and Pedroia on first and second. Cody Ross struck out for the last out of the game and securing the win for the Rays. Though it was absolutely complete crap, since NONE of the pitches Rodney even threw were close to being a strike. Ridiculous.
